Chanel Iman

Here she is strutting down the runway

Today I am here, not to tell you about the newest clothing item, or the cutest bag, but to share and tell you about a person very big in the world fashion industry: Chanel Iman.

With a name like Chanel Iman, could a girl possibly want to be anything other than a supermodel?  Born November 30, 1989,  Chanel Iman  began practicing her poses not long after learning to walk. Named for her mother’s favorite designer and a cousin, Chanel started dressing up as a model for Halloween in the first grade. Years of studying magazines and striking poses at home landed her third place in Ford’s Supermodel of the World contest. Almost immediately, the Korean/African-American debuted on the catwalk for designers like Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs, Derek Lam, Proenza Schouler, Dolce & Gabbana, and Alexander McQueen.

Now you are probably asking me what does Chanel have to do with fashion? Well, even though she is not a famous designer, she is one of the worlds top supermodels! She has pranced down the catwalk in many high fashion items! Looks like her reams of becoming a model came true!
