Wheather it is a school dance, a wedding, or a fancy dinner, I know, it’s hard to find the right dress for you! Now, your worrying will end. For good. The only way to stop your disease is to read this blog post.

The first thing you need to do know your skin tone. Dark skin tones should go with pastels and light colors, but lighter toned people should go with bright bold colors.

The second thing you need to do is find a great dress store. Depending on your price. If your gradating, Debs is a great dress store, but if you are just going to a small 1 time occasion, then Macy’s and JCpenny’s are  awesome options.

Now shop, don’t forget it is summer, so pick a lightweight summer dress. It really dependsif you want to long or short. but…

big occasion= Long dress

small occasion= shorter dress

I hope this last post helps you. I know, it’s short, a lot a dress picking out depends on your style!

A Fashionable Friday

BRINNGGG, your alarm buzzes of, and it’s Friday, you trudge out of bed and see a zombie before your eyes, it takes you a few minutes to realize that that zombie my friend, is you. Have no fear fashion Avenue is here, to tell you how to pick out an amazing outfit, on Friday’s.

Step 1: Get out of bed, just to wake up splash some ice water on your face, and turn all your lights on, walk over to where you keep your clothes.

Step 2: When you are at the place where you keep your clothes, pick out a pair of pants, for Fridays where a pair of sweatpants, they will make your day warm and comfortable. In the summer, wear active shorts. At some schools it is acceptable to wear pajama pants! Just make sure that they are appropriate for school, plaid pajama’s are best!

Step 3: Next, pick out a t-shirt. Now, you have an option. You can either where a baggy tee, witha tight tank top undeneath, or a tight tee with a tank top underneath. If you pick a baggy tee with a tank top, make sure you tie all the extra baggyness of the t-shirt with a rubber band or hair tie, and tuck it under the baggy shirt. Make sure the 2 colors match! If you pick a tight tee witha tank top, again make sure the colors match.

Step 4: Do your hair, put it in a pony-tail, so it is out of your face.

Step 5: Shoes, if it is colder, wear furry boots or Uggs, if it is summer wear flip flops.

I hope this helps make your Friday mornings a little less stressful:)

Fashion In New York City

When I say ‘Fashion Capital of the world’, you must think, New York City. After all NYC, is the home to may famous fashion designers, and stores. A fashion capital would be the home of many top designers, modeling agencies and, it is decided by the amount of business and influence through fashion. In general, there are 4 traditional fashion capitals: Milan, New York City, Paris and London. Despite these being the stereoypical fashion capitals of the world, other cities, such as Rome, Sydney, Tokyo, and Los Angeles have been ranked very highly in the lists.

Fashion Stores

Macy’s, even though there is practically a Macy’s in about every state, this whopping 9 story building felt blog worthy to me. Not only do they have  a wide selection of clothes for all ages but, Macy’s  is also known for Thanksgiving Day Parade, Holiday Window Displays, and Visits with Santa. They carry products from Coach, Louis Vuttion, and even DKNY! Whenever going to New York City Macy’s is a must see, whether you are walking by to look at the windows, or going on a shopping spree!

Coach, if you are looking for a new bag, this is the place to go! The Manhattan Coach store started in the 1950’s. This store sells many handbags, and accessories. You ca find the Coach store at 595 Madison Avenue. Although, Coach has several stores through out New York City.

Barneys Co-Op,Barney’s is a sophisticated, classy designer department store . Even after filing for bankruptcy in 1996 and closing its Chelsea location, Barneys proven its ability to attract both Upper East Side .. Barneys industrial style Co-Op stores feature edgy, funkier styles and accessories for men and women. The have sales around February- August. The Barney’s Co-Op is located at 236 W. 18th St., New York, NY 10011
nr. Eighth Ave.

Tiffany & Co., First established as a stationery and fancy goods store in lower Manhattan in 1837, Tiffany moved to its current location in 1940. Past the revolving door, the first floor is lined with fine jewelry. Take the elevator to the second floor, filled with engagement rings. Brides-to-be can browse the fourth floor for elegant table, glass and silverware, as well as upscale wedding invitations and thank-you cards, then head down to three for less-pricey sterling silver jewelry, perfect for wedding-party favors . While there are also fine items for men (cuff links and watches) and even babies (solid silver rattle), Tiffany undoubtedly remains a girl’s very best friend.

Other note worth stores, H&M (clothing store), Century 21 (clothing), Bloomingdales’s (department store).

Now, I bet you are ready to jump out the doors and go to New York! Well, I did some research and without a doubt New York New York tours was the best result for a tour in the Big Apple! Give them a call, and they will set you up with a hotel room, dinner reservations, tickets to broadway shows, and more!

New York New York Tours:

Anyway, have fun at New York, I hope this post really helped decide where you want to go!

Ice Cream and Fashion, in France they really Relate

Oh, à la mode, my new favorite word. It has to do with my 2 favorite things ice cream, and fashion. Now for all those fashion guru’s out there you are probably following along with me pretty well, but for those newbies at fashion, I guess I must explain myself.

Wow probably think I’m insane right now, I’m not. You probably think I am typing these very words from a mental institution, I’m not. To clear your confusion up, à la mode means fashion in french. You, may start the chorus of “ahhhhs” and “ohhhs”.

So know you must see why I completely adore the word “à la mode”. You will find me saying about, of I don’t know, about EVERY BLOG POST!

Peace, love and à la mode,

France, and Their Scarves

Recently, I have learned in my French class that Girls and Women from France mostly always wear scarves! So, of course  with blogging always somewhere in my head, I thought what a perfect topic for my blog! So here it goes…

Scarfs started in Rome, they wore scarves (sudarium latin word for scarves) The started wearing these to ‘mop’ up sweat from their bodies because of extremely hot tempertures.

People claim that at first scarves were made from cloth instead of wool at first. However in the 17th century a wider scale of scarves were brought to out universe. Soldiers and Policemen normally wore silk scarves (in their case neckerchiefs)

The Croatian style was loved by the french and it quickly became a fashion item in france. In France the word cravatas, means scarves in French. In France a scarf used to somEtimes express one’s religious or political beliefs. Men and women wore neckerchiefs, no matter of the social class they belonged. The Scarf traveled quickly and  even reached Norway.

Now despite what you think, neckerchiefs are a very popular item for men, Normally made from silk.

In modern days people have taken the older fashions of scarves and mixed them with the new ones. Unfortunately, times in the 1900’s at some times scarfs have been forgotten! Although, now scarfs are back, and better than before. In my opinion scarfs have a very bright feature in the fashion industry.

Thank you for reading! Au Revoir!

Looking Great While On the Mountain

Attention to all skiers and snowboarders! Have you ever worried about looking great on the mountain (speaking in terms of fashion), or have just been plain uncomfortable? I know I have, but after you read this post all your worries about looking great, (again speaking in fashion terms here) will simply be plowed off the mountain.

Okay, first start off with a jacket, we won’t go over what’s underneath the top layers just because nobody will really see under that. Pick something bright-colored and fun! dark green, black, and red coats are most often seen on the mountain, so if you are  with a group that might not be the best choice. I suggest going with a pink, yellow, light blue, or orange coats. When buying your coat ask the saleslady/man if your coat is for a skier or a border, because ski coats tend to be more snug and border coats tend to be looser. Also, make sure your coat is water and snowproof Happy with your jacket? Great, don’t leave the store yet, for there is more to come.

Now we will go to snow pants. These you be fit to your body, but not skin-tight. In my opinion black or tan snow pants always look best with any jacket! It is not a good idea to have a matching coat and snow pants just because if they are both patterned you look confusing.

Okay, next on the list in a helmet, this is an extremely important item of your outfit, not only the fact that it could save your life, but the fact that it also keeps your head warm and toasty. Your helmet will always look good if it matches you jacket. Following a helmet is goggles, it looks best, well any goggle will look great with your outfit, as long as they do the job your good to go!

When flying down the mountain you will need gloves these should be black, because black goes with any color.

Last, poles THIS IS ONLY FOR SKIERS! Poles are a must have on the mountain, so make sure they look awesome! Poles normally aren’t very fancy so get black, or white!

Thanks for reading, may your next trip down the mountain be peaceful.

Spring Clothes!

Spring is just around the corner, March 20th.  After reading this post you have about 1 month to create your spring wardrobe.

First, let’s talk about the colors of spring:  mostly pastels, baby blues, eggshell pinks, bunny yellows, and lavender purples. Okay, to a young being like yourself, you must be saying, baby blues, what? Don’t worry I’ve just announced the so-called ‘fancy names’ of colors. To clear up your confusion, just take out the fancy word (baby, eggshell, bunny, lavender) and add the word light. Are you still confused? Well, I don’t have all day, go get a dictionary!

Now, first thing we will go over is sweaters.  Light gray cardigans are really in right now! Make sure they are 3/4 length sleeves (they don’t go all the way to your wrist). Stock up on plenty of these! Now, even as cute as a cardigan is, it won’t appeal to everyone’s fashion sense.  If you don’t like cardigans try a grey zip-up jacket. No flowers, or writing, no anything on it. Although, a pocket will not ruin this outfit.

Next, pants. Floral knee-length skirts are the ‘in’ of the season. If you aren’t a skirt person try cuffed white capris with an eye-popping shirt, we’re talking sun yellows, and ruby reds, and demanding pinks here people!

Now tops, these will appeal to everyone’s taste. Tank tops I swear go good with any skirt, or pair of pants! Pick a bright color, such as blue, or a pink! This will make the gray sweater, or cardigan pop!

Shoes, personally my favorite part of this outfit, for the ‘girly girl’s’ shoes pick a pretty pair of ballet flats, they should be white, or pink. For the tomboy, pick a pair of Adidas flip-flops or sandals.

Okay , lets talk about bags. Your not going to need to much with your skirt, so pick a light yellow coin purse, or wristlets. Now, if bags just aren’t your thing (yes, I’m talking to you, tomboy’s) just skip bags all together. Although you are going to need something, so pick a patterned pair of sunglasses!

Lip gloss, this is for the  girly girl but the tomboy can use it too!  Use Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie Nude-tricious lip gloss! I swear, it just screams spring beauty!

Emma Watson as the new face of Burberry

With dark, smoky eye-make up and windswept hair, Emma Watson looks nothing like the young Harry Potter character, Hermione Granger, in her latest spot as the “face” of British fashion label, Burberry.

The 19 year-old actress has  a sophisticated and grown-up look in the images, as she models classic Burberry  items – such as the classic trench coat and accessories.  So far she has modeled the winter “09 and “1o winter items.

Watson caught the eye of Burberry’s director, the Yorkshireman, Christopher Bailey, who said: “Having known and admired the lovely Emma Watson for some time, she was the obvious choice for this campaign. Emma has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. Her charm and intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames.”

The advertising campaign, which was shot by fashion photographer Mario Testino, was set in Westminster, central London, home to Burberry’s new global headquarters at Horseferry House, SW1.

Last month, the label announced that it will show its Burberry “Prorsum” collection for spring/summer 2010, as part of London’s Fashion Week in September – leaving behind Milan Fashion Week, where the brand has shown for the past eight years.
